Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza celebrated its grand opening last week by supporting Autism Awareness Month with NFL Hall of Fame quarterback Dan Marino.

Marino is a partner in the restaurant chain, which is known for its “well-done” pizzas.

In celebration of its grand opening, the restaurant contributed all of its day’s sales to the Dan Marino Foundation, which supports autism causes. Marino established the foundation with his wife after their son Michael was diagnosed with the disorder.

“It touches people’s lives,” Marino said of autism. “That’s the reason why we continue to work – to raise money to help other families.

The event raised $10,070 for the Dan Marino Foundation, which funds quality-of-life research. The foundation also established the Miami Children’s Hospital Dan Marino Center and the Marino Campus, which will open next year.
