More than a foot of snow has blanketed the area, causing some transportation delays and school and business closings. Check in with Patch throughout the day for an updated list of who is closed. If you are a Commack business owner and have closed or delayed opening today, please let us know.

LIRR

  • The Long Island Rail Road restored westbound service Wednesday morning after suspending all trains between Huntington and Hicksville because of the weather. The MTA is reporting 15 minute delays across several branches, and very limited diesel service. There will be no diesel train service east of Speonk on the Montauk Branch and east of Ronkonkoma on the Main Line to Greenports.

  •  Mail trucks as of 9:30 a.m. Wednesday were out delivering mail.
