Commack resident Daniel Ryan will be honored at the Woodbury Ball for Autism for his efforts to spread awareness and education about the disorder. The ball will be held April 5 at the Village Club at Lake Success.
Ryan has been a senior floor official at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) for the past 21years where he manages his business, E & J Securities. Outside of his day job, he has served on the board of the David Center and the National Board of The National Alliance for Autism Research (NAAR), co-chair of the Autism Speaks Long Island Walk and Chair of Corporate Relationships for the Long Island Region and serves on the Autism Speaks Young Woodbury Ball for Autism Professionals Committee.
In addition, he serves as Secretary of The NYSE Members Handicapped Children’s Fund and is a Trustee of SOAR (Support Our Autism Rainbow), whose missionis to educate and promote awareness on Long Island and provide help to children with autism in the area of social development.
Ryan has three sons, Michael, Daniel and Jonathan. When Jonathan was diagnosed with autism, his father began fighting for more awareness, better treatments and ultimately a cure.
Ryan will receive the 2013 Woodbury Autism Award at the ball, along with Michael Giangregorio, Vice President of JP Morgan in the CIB-Trading Services Division.
All proceeds from the event will raise funds for Autism Speaks, North Shore Autism Circle and Nassau Suffolk Services for Autism.
