Commack Graduate Wins NEFCU College Scholarship
Elyssa Sternberg was chosen from 100 applicants to receive the $1,000 scholarship.
Commack resident Elyssa Sternberg was awarded a $1,000 college scholarship as part of NEFCU's Family Scholarship proram.
Sternberg, a recent graduate, was one of eight students to be granted a scholarship, which is based on academic achievement, community service and a personal essay.
One hundred applicants applied to the program, which was open to all graduating high school seniors on Long Island.
