Commack Woman Wins $10G In Lotto Drawing

Commack's own Susan Juliano hit the jackpot on Dec. 28.

While most people have a lucky number, Susan Juliano has five—and they won her ten grand.

Juliano, a Commack resident, took home just over $10,000—$10,002, to be exact—in winnings from the Dec. 28 Mega Millions drawing. She matched four of the five numbers drawn, as well as the Mega Ball number, according to the New York Lottery website.

Juliano purchased the winning ticket at Gurwin Jewish Nursing & Rehabilitation Center on 68 Hauppauge Rd. in Commack.

Juliano was one of 13 winners at the $10,000 level. Only one person claimed the second-place prize of $250,000 by matching all five numbers without the Mega Ball, with the ticket being sold at a gas station in the Bronx. The ever-elusive first prize, a $200 million jackpot, went unclaimed.

Because her prize fell under the $1 million mark, Juliano was able to cash her lucky ticket at the New York Lottery's Garden City Customer Service Center where she was cut a check for the amount on the spot, said Lottery spokesperson Carolyn Haperman.
