Authorities said they believe Philby-Zetsche's mother, Tracy Zetsche allegedly murdered her son in the bedroom, stabbing him in the head and chest with three different knives, before striking his skull with a hammer more than 20 times, according to Times Union.

His mother has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder.

The Facebook memorial page briefly addresses Philby-Zetsche's death.

"What should be remembered about Gabe is not the tragic way he died, but what a kind, caring, loving young man he was and how he touched each one of us. Gabe always was and always will be loved, " writes the page's founder, whose name is not listed.

Friends, family and loved ones of the Commack native are encouraged to continue to share their memories and photos of him on the new dedication page.

Early posts make reference that a fundraiser is being planned for mid-September for all those who wish to honor Philby-Zetsche's life by raising funds for a worthy cause. Specific details are promised at a later date.
