PHOTOS: Hurricane Sandy Topples Trees, Tears Down Power Lines

Here's a look at the damage and destruction caused by the storm across Commack.

As the winds from Hurricane Sandy die down, Commack residents are venturing outside to get their first glimpses of the damage and devastation the storm has done to the area.

Local roads are difficult to navigate due to fallen trees, or as on Commack driver shouted out his window "I feel like I'm stuck in a rat maze."

Fallen and torn power lines have left more than 20,000 Commack residents without power after Hurricane Sandy. These power lines now pose dangerous obstacles to clean-up efforts.

If you haven't had a chance to leave your home, here's a glimpse at what you'll be seeing around town.
