Question: Are You Interested in the Smithtown Library Elections and Budget?

The vote to elect two board of trustee candidates and to adopt the 2012 proposed budget is set for Oct. 11.

The Smithtown Special Library District is set to fill two seats on the board of trustees and seek the adoption of the proposed budget for 2012 on Oct. 11.

on the board of trustees – incumbent Anthony Monteleone, former trustee Rosalind Palazzolo, and newcomer Otis Thornhill.

The proposed $12,649,720 budget for 2012, a 1.2 percent increase from the adopted $ 12,500,112 budget from 2011, is also up for vote.

While literature for the proposed budget as been distributed and the "Meet the Candidates" event was publicized, less than 20 locals attended.
