High Winds Knock Out Power for Some

Power company says145 residents south of Veteran's Memorial Highway lost power.

More than 145 residents south of Veteran's Memorial Highway lost power Monday as high winds swept through the area, according to the Long Island Power Authority's storm center.

The map on LIPA's website shows that residents affected by this are isolated to the area south of the Jericho Turnpike and the Veteran's Memorial Highway split, around Genesee Drive. 

LIPA reports that power should be restored by 9:30 p.m.. Patch will update with additional information as soon as it becomes available.
