UPDATED: Services Set for Killed Teen

Memorial services are set for Tuesday and Wednesday for Taylor Cavaliere, a junior at Commack High School who .

Commack School District Superintendent Donald James sent a message to parents Monday night informing them the wake will be held on Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at funeral home.

Cavaliere's funeral will be held at the same location at 10 a.m. Wednesday, and will be a private ceremony for close friends and family.

A Funeral Mass will be open to the public starting at 10:45 a.m at St. Matthew's Roman Catholic Church, followed immediately by her burial at Saint Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale.

Cavaliere was 16 years old.

Dear Parents and Community Members,

As promised earlier, and with a heavy heart, I am forwarding the arrangements for Taylor Cavaliere:

The wake will be held on Tuesday, April 19, 2011, at the Commack Abbey from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm.  The funeral will be on Wednesday at the Commack Abbey beginning at 10am.  The burial will follow immediately at Saint Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale.

There is no doubt that this is a difficult time for many, and we will do whatever possible to support those in need.  Certainly, grief counseling will be available once school re-opens.  In the interim, should anyone need our support, students, parents, staff, please do not hesitate to contact me directly at djames@commack.k12.ny.us  or Mrs. Nolan at cnolan@commack.k12.ny.us .
