Update: Power Outage Restoration in Commack

According to LIPA, 83 percent of those who lost power in Commack have been restored.

Things are looking brighter in Commack as power restorations are underway, but 1,010 customers are still without power, according to the Long Island Power Authority’s most recent estimate.

As of friday afternoon, LIPA estimates a total of 445,000 customers on Long Island have had their power restored but about 78,000 outages still remain. They estimate that 90 percent of those outages will be restored by the end of the day and 99 percent will be restored by Sunday.

Patch reader Lisa Smith, who lives on Hayrick Lane in Commack, was still without power at 10 p.m. Thursday night, and losing patience.

"[The] storm was Sunday....you do the math because I am losing it! Think LIPA will pay for my mental health counseling?"

Other residents took to Twitter towith the utility company after days without power.

remains closed due to downed power lines. One worker told Patch they're not sure if the park will reopen in time for the holiday weekend.
