Week in Review: Students Graduate, Residents Learn About Patch

Commack Patch's first look back at the week of news.

This first week of Commack Patch was a beginning and an ending–an ending of school, high school for the 2010 graduates and the beginning of Patch, this new news site that you have started to make your own.

Last Sunday we started our "official" Commack coverage with the Commack High School graduation ceremony. The students, faculty and parents sat through the sun to see each one of the over 600 graduates walk across the field for the last time.

Monday, our launch day, we jumped right into the game by reviewing some of your favorite restaurants, like Mannino's and Emilio's.

Tuesday, we stopped by Commack's on-the-go blood drive to learn all about blood drive vans in New York.

Wednesday, we experienced the Twilight: Eclipse premiere at Commack Multiplex and found out what made Ciao Baby famous: it's huge portions and it's spot on Travel Channel's Man v. Food.

Thursday, we broke the news that the Greenlawn Water District–which services the Commack community–found a contaminated well.

Friday, we continued coverage of the contaminated well, and learned more about the new .

Saturday, we learned about a volunteer in the community offering support for breast cancer victims and also shared our Q&A with a nurse about skin care and summer sun safety.
