PJ Ventures Gets OK to Build New Restaurant in Commack
Real estate developers have received the go ahead to build a new 6,500-square-foot restaurant in Commack. 

P.J. Venture received approval from Town of Smithtown's Planning board Wednesday night to build a new restaurant, from the ground up, in the Cosentino Shopping Center off Crooked Hill Road and Henry Street in Commack. The proposal will now go before Smithtown Town Board.

Lowe's Expected to Submit Revised Plans for Commack Cinemas
Smithtown Planning officials say that after months of silence, Lowe's is still interested in building a store on the site of the former Commack Multiplex Cinemas. 

David Flynn, Smithtown's assistant planning director, said he expects that Lowe's will submit revised plans to build a store on the site of the former Commack Cinemas by this Thursday. The national home improvement chain still holds an interest in building a new store in Commack.

Residents Protest Huntington Town Parking Fee Increase
Residents targeted a proposed Huntington LIRR parking garage fee increase at a 2013 Preliminary Town Budget hearing Tuesday, calling it out of touch with working class citizens.

Town Supervisor Frank Petrone proposed a 1,200 percent jump – from $50 a year to $600 a year – for a guaranteed parking space in the town-owned parking garage in his $181.7 million budget in September, reasoning that it is the going rate among neighboring municipalities.
