Louis Donolli, 78, was killed in the fire that broke out in his home on Deepdale Drive at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Suffolk County police announced. Donolli's son, Timothy, was taken to Stony Brook Universtiy Medical Center to be treated for burns. the sfire is still under investigation.

After months of speculation and uncertainty, Lowe's submitted a revised plan to build a store at the former Commack Multiplex Cinemas. The company also paid a $50,000 site-plan fee, solidifying its plans to build in Commack.

In an attempt to rid the town of an “eyesore,” town officials unlawfully pressured a landowner into demolishing a property, even after a stoppage in demolition was issued, according to a Suffolk Grand Jury report released Tuesday.
