An elderly Smithtown man was hit and killed while walking along Jericho Turnpike on May 21. 


Smithtown Councilman Robert Creighton thinks the roads in Smithtown are crumbling and plans to vote in favor of a $10 million bond to help get the town’s infrastructure back on track.

Smithtown residents could be in for a surprise if they tried to access the Town of Smithtown's website on Tuesday afternoon as Patch readers were reporting that the town's main website had been hacked causing an advertisement for the prescription drug Viagra. 


Thomas DeLuca has served in World War II, spent time on the front lines as the Philippines were liberated from Japan and dodged submarines in the Pacific and at 93 years of age, he continues to serve.


As Motor Parkway Bridge construction nears completion, local residents will have to deal with one last Long Island Expressway closure before construction is fully cleared.
