Suffolk Cop Killed in Commack Crash
An off-duty Suffolk County police officer was killed early Friday morning in a crash along Jericho Turnpike in Commack, police said.

Patrick Curley, of Huntington, was driving a sports utility vehicle westbound on Route 25, near Siracusa Boulevard, when it collided with a Winters Brothers garbage truck that was backing out of a business onto Route 25 at 3:33 a.m, according to police. 

Vanderbilt Parkway Closed Due to Car Crash
Suffolk County police have closed down a portion Vanderbilt Motor Parkway after a serious one-car crash on Friday morning.

Missing Commack Woman Found
A 74-year-old Commack woman, reportedly suffering from dementia, who went missing Thursday afternoon has been located and is unharmed, Suffolk County Police announced late Thursday night.

Smithtown Officials Reconsider New Industrial Zoning Along Lawrence Road
Smithtown officials are reconsidering whether their first criticisms of the Lawrence Road Study for the so-called Kings Park industrial area were too harsh as they look at drafting new industrial zoning code for the area. 

Frank DeRubeis, Smithtown's Planning Director, recommended moving forward with the Lawrence Road Study's suggestion of creating a new hybrid zoning code between light industrial and heavy industrial for the properties between Lawrence Road and Old Northport Road in Kings Park at a Tuesday's town board work session.
