Weekend Weather: Chance of Snow

A few inches possible, says the National Weather Service.

An approaching cold front and a strengthening storm system in the Ohio Valley will help bring light snowfall to the Commack area on Saturday. While not particularly heavy, the snow may cause slippery roads and reduced visibilities.

Generally, 1 to 3 inches of snow is possible, according to the National Weather Service.

The forecast:

Friday: Mostly sunny for most of the day with a high near 50 degrees. Winds out of the West at 8 mph, with overnight snow accumulation of up to a half inch possible.

Saturday: Snow is likely before noon. A 60 percent chance of snow with a high of 34 degrees forecast. Winds out of the North at 12 mph.

Sunday: Overnight snow accumulation from one to two inches. Colder and windy with a high temperature of 28 degrees and winds out of the Northwest at 28 mph.
