Donations Needed for Coat and Blanket Drive

As winter quickly approaches, warm clothing and blankets are needed to help struggling Long Islanders.

Suffolk County Legis. Steve Stern (D-Huntington) is collecting new or gently used coats, sweatshirts, sweaters and blankets (all sizes needed) for “Every Child’s Dream,” a local organization that provides support for needy families.

For many Long Islanders, choosing between putting food on the table and buying clothes to keep warm has become an unfortunate reality.

“In these challenging times, many of our neighbors are struggling and are having difficulty making ends meet.  There is no better way to help share the spirit of the season,” Stern said in a press release.

Donations for “Every Child’s Dream” can be dropped off 1842 East Jericho Turnpike, Huntington, NY from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
