Tampellini Brings Clarity and Commitment to Candidates Night

I attended Candidates Night expecting to hear the candidates "go for the win" and clearly demonstrate why he is the best guy for the job. I came away disappointed.   Jim Tampellini was the only candidate to "weigh-in" on the questions being asked by the audience. He was direct and straightforward.  He was the only man to commit to stop cutting from student enrichment to pay the bills!  This is why he should be on the Board.  He has identified a problem and is clearly stating he will not support the "cut from kids" policy we have been working from, for the past 7 years.  His opponent, Mr. Egan, contributed no details about his accomplishments during the past three years. Jeff cited the job as "thankless", and does not appear to have any desire to continue in this role.

In contrast to Mr. Tampellini's clear cut style, Mr. Behar refused to answer questions the audience asked. He bobbed and weaved, and acted the consumate politician. He's in full support of the current board, the status quo,  and appears to be Ms. Mascielo's handpicked successor to Mr. Pennacchio. If we want another politician on the Board that can't answer a direct question, then Mr. Behar is your man.  He squandered his opportunity to present his ideas.  He repeatedly stated that, to the questions, there were no easy answers. We came to this event for answers or at least vision, and he offered neither.  In any event, the choice we will make is between Mr. Behar and Mr. Hartman.

Mr. Hartman is not slick but, he comes across as genuine.... honest.  That's a good start for a Trustee.  Tampellini and Hartman would be the better choices for Board Trustees.                  -G. Morgan
