Thrift Shop To Take Over Empty Electronics Store

Savers, a nationwide chain, will lease the Larkfield Road retail space.

Savers thrift store is coming to Commack.

The business will lease the 19,000-square-foot, retail space at 755 Larkfield Road, formerly occupied by Sixth Avenue Electronics, which closed in 2011.

An opening date has not yet been announced for the thrift store, which is known for its low-cost goods, and environmental benefits through the reuse and recycling of pre-owned items.

Sabre Real Estate Group LLC arranged the lease for Savers, which is the largest privately held thrift-store chain in North America. 

The Commack site with be Savers' fourth Long Island location. The others are in Holbrook, Medford and West Hempstead.
