Reply to Mr. Tampellini

This blog post would more appropriately be a comment to Mr. Tampellini's post, but since it would likely get deleted by someone, I'll post it as a separate blog.

It looks like Mr. Tampellini is now going to post every audit where a School District is cited by the Comptroller's office without regard to facts and circumstances that are not similar to Commack at all.  As I discussed here, if you look at an audit report of a School District that actually has similar budgetary practices to Commack, you will see that the Comptroller found that District (New Rochelle) was in compliance.  Apparently, Mr. Tampellini is content to shout nonsense at the rain, but the citizens of Commack proved last month that they are too smart to fall for that.

Regarding the salaries for the non-union employees, at the very least, this exact same thing was done last year.  In fact, I remember sitting there listening to Mr. Tampellini grandstand about salaries of certain positions across Long Island.  So for him to complain that this was somehow a surprise on his second (and hopefully next-to-last) year on the Board, is shockingly disingenuous.  Not that we should expect anything less from Jim Tampellini at this point though.

EDIT (6/17/14):  Numerous comments have once again been deleted.  Very sad indeed.
