Young Parents of Commack Please Get Out And Vote Tomorrow

I am specifically addressing this post to the young parents of Commack.  Almost all of us, if not all of us, moved here for one thing and one thing only:  the excellent schools.  Now our School District is under siege.  It is under siege by people that want change for change's sake.  People that only care about fiscal issues and only pay lip service to education -- the point of a school district.  The mostly anonymous and often malicious posters on the Patch, however many of them there actually are posting under different names, do not waiver from this singular message.  And they do not care about your child's education.

The only way for the young parents of Commack to ensure that their children get just as good of an education as the students do today, if not better, is to show up and vote tomorrow for Mary Jo Masciello.  If you moved here for the School District, it largely because of the work of Mrs. Masciello, not in spite of her as the anonymous few would have you believe.  It is not time to make change for change's sake now that your children are ready to take advantage of the wonderful and diverse educational opportunities that the School District has to offer.   And make no mistake, those that will vote based solely on a desire to lower their property taxes, no matter the cost to the School District, our community and our children, will be voting tomorrow.

I am not going to be repetitive in this brief post, you can read the collection of my prior blogs here.   I urge you, if you care about the educational future of this School District and our community, and do not believe that the Commack School District is just a matter of finances, to vote for Mary Jo Masciello.  Please also vote YES on the budget and for Janine DiGiralomo, the current President of PTA Counsel, someone with a great deal of experience in the educational issues that face our District.
