HOMELESS IN COMMACK....RODEWAY INN (OLD HOWARD JOHNSON) CLOSING

Rodeway Inn Closing for renovations or at least that is what management told me!!

I traveled here about 3 weeks ago from Texas to help with the Hurricane Sandy clean-up and I am now being put out of my hotel room!! Can the manager really do that?? As of Dec. 3, 2012 anyone staying at the Rodeway Inn will be put out of their rooms!! There are people, families included, who have no where to go because their homes were destroyed and management is putting people out to do "renovations". They couldnt postpone the renovations? We were given no time to prepare or find other arrangements. When I asked the manager what was going on all he said was he was sorry but the storm destroyed their roof and it is a liablity to have guests in the building. What I don't understand is....how is it that the roof is just now "destoyed" and the storm happened weeks ago. Why was I even checked into a dangerous building in the first place? The poor lady at the desk looked so lost and continuously apologized for management's decision. I wouldn't be surprised if half the rooms were destroyed from neglect and ill management skills long before the storm even came. This guy needs to be investigated. I feel so sorry for the guests and the employees that are still there...homeless and jobless.
