The residents of the lowered numbered homes on Eva Path in South Commack lost power at approximately 5 a.m. Sunday morning when the transformer exploded.
There was some minor damage but the worst damage is the downing of a tree on Eva Path that has not only ripped up the sidewalk but has deterred any through travel on the block.
I don't foresee power being restored today but I am hoping to have it back some time tomorrow.
