Weekend Planner: Car Wash Fundraiser; Yard Sales

A look at upcoming events and activities in the Commack area.

Commack High School Softball Fundraiser   
Support the Commack high School girls softball team/Girls’ Diamond Club by attending a car wash fundraiser on April 28 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the high school (1 Scholar Lane, Commack). The $5 donation will help support the scholarship fund, equipment and needed improvements to the field.  

Red Mango Opens
Red Mango at the Mayfair Shopping Center in Commack will open Saturday. Stop by to meet the new business and enjoy endless combinations of frozen yogurt treats.

Yard Sale for Nature
Sweetbriar Nature Center in Smithtown will be holding a yard sale on Saturday from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.,  to support the mission of providing nature education and wildlife rehabilitation to the public. Items will include music boxes, fabric flowers, antiques, collectibles, memorabilia, aquariums/terrariums and other animal care needs and more. 

Two-Family Yard Sale
Pick up toys, tupperware, books, clothes, furniture and other household items at a two-family yard sale Saturday, starting at 9 a.m. at 22 Delaware Avenue in Commack.

Rally to Support Horse Slaughter Ban
A rally will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the office of Sen. Chuck Schumer, 145 Pinelawn Road in Melville, to support the SAFE act, to support a horse slaughter ban. Read more about the rally here: https://www.facebook.com/events/183606641788997/?fref=ts
