Mourners Gather to Say Goodbye to Gabe Philby

Friends and family say goodbye to Commack grad, Gabriel Philby-Zetsche, who was found dead in his upstate New York apartment.

The scene outside the North Shore Baptist Church in Kings Park was quiet and somber as mourners gathered to say their goodbyes to Gabriel Philby-Zetsche Thursdy Night.

Philby-Zetsche, 22, a 2009 Commack High School graduate who lived with cerebral palsy, . His mother has been charged with his murder.

One mourner said she knew Philby-Zetsche as a young boy. “He was always the sweetest thing. Sweet and kind, just a joy,” said the woman who identified herself only as Georgiana.

An outpouring of love and heartfelt wishes have filled Philby-Zetsche’s page, remembering him as a good friend who made others smile.
