Tell Us: Islanders Returning; Do You Care?

Abbreviated season will be among team's last in Nassau County.

The Islanders are conducting open practices this week in anticipation of a lockout-shortened season that will consist of about 50 games.

And it will be one of the last seasons in Nassau County: The NHL team is expected to move to the Barclays Center in Brooklyn after the 2014-15 season.

At this late date in the hockey season, we're wondering, do you even care?

Will Islanders' hockey will disappear from Long Island's consciousness or will the team's fans follow them to Brooklyn?

Tell us in the comments.

The fact that this hack Joe Dowd writes that it is a strike shortened season is comical. Lets try and do some research before looking like an idiot, joe. Nassau County will become more of a wasteland when the islanders leave. The home prices and taxes swallow you alive here. And for what? Brutal traffic? Long Island can dissolve into the ocean for all I care.

Billy: Good point. It would be a lockout, rather than a strike. I'll make the change. Thanks for pointing it out. jd
