Armed Robber Hits Commack Dairy Barn

Suffolk County police are investigating whether this robbery is tied to two stores in North Babylon and Lake Ronkonkoma.

 

Suffolk County police are on the search for an armed robber who hit up Dairy Barn in Commack on Sept. 5. 

Police said a while male entered the Commack Dairy Barn on Commack Road at approximately 9:40 p.m. Sept. 5. The man showed off what appeared to be a firearm, according to police, and stole an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes.

Police are currently investigating this robbery and whether it is related to two similar cases. 

A Crime Alert was issued by police on Sept. 12 looking for the public's help in identifying a man who burglarized the North Babylon and Lake Ronkonkoma locations of The Barn, a drive-through grocery store.

In August, a while male illegally entered both North Babylon and Lake Ronkonkoma stores. The thief stole a large number of cigarette packs and places several other items into a black backpack with a peace sign on it. He fled both stores on foot. 

The suspect in the North Babylon and Ronkonkoma robberies is described as a tall, thin, white male with a mustache and glasses. He was wearing a blue hoodie, blue jeans, a black belt and tan construction boots at the time of the robbery. 

Anyone who may have witnesses any of these robberies or has information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
