Blood Drive Saturday in Honor of Fallen SCPD Officer

Commack Fire Department will hold its annual blood drive in memory of Glen Ciano.

Commack firefighters will hold their third annual Glen Ciano Blood Drive at the Commack Fire Department headquarters this Saturday from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

The blood drive is dedicated to the memory of Suffolk County Police Officer. Ciano was a beloved husband and father of two who was killed in the line of duty on Feb. 22, 2009 after a drunken driver caused him to crash his patrol car into a utility pole on Commack Road.

The officer was a friend to many of Commack's volunteers, as his patrol car was based out of the fire department's headquarters.
