Commack Woman Arrested for DWI

21-year-old had a blood alcohol content nearly twice the legal limit while driving on the Southern State Parkway early Wednesday.

A Commack woman was arrested early Wednesday morning for driving drunk in Islip, New York State Police said.

Ashley Dechent, 21, was driving eastbound on the Southern State Parkway near exit 43 when she was pulled over by state police at approximately 3:30 p.m. According to police, she had a blood alcohol level of .15 percent, nearly twice the legal limit.

Dechent was charged with driving while intoxicated and will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip.
