Commack Woman Charged with DWI on Southern State

Kathryn Lambert ignored a closed section of the parkway and drove into an accident scene, police said.

A Commack woman was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated Friday after she drove around a road closure and into an accident scene on the Southern State Parkway, police said.

According to New York State police, Kathryn Lambert, 21, was pulled over when she disregarded a road closure and drove into the scene of an accident at approximately 1 a.m. The westbound side of the parkway was shut down for three hours due to a tractor trailer that struck an overpass, police said.

Police determined Lambert to be intoxicated, and she later failed a breathalyzer test, police said.
