A car crashed through the storefront of on Jericho Turnpike in East Northport Sunday afternoon, causing property damage but no serious injuries, according to Suffolk County police.
Police said a 75-year-old Commack woman driving a 2011, four-door BMW was attempting to park in front of Marina Carpet. The woman, whose name has not been released, hit the gas pedal by accident, smashing into the carpet store's front glass window and concrete entrance at 3:09 p.m. Sunday.
The woman was transported to Huntington Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
