Cops: Man Repeatedly Takes Steel from Commack Biz

A St. James man was arrested over the holidays for repeatedly taking steel from a Commack electrical supplies company.
Reed Durham, 20, was arrested on Dec. 24 and charged with three felony counts of grand larceny, stealing property valued at more than $1,000. Police said Durham was illegally reselling galvanized steel pipes stolen from Mid-Island Electrical Supplies in Commack.

Police said starting on Nov. 26, 2012, Durham stole galvanized steel pipes from Mid-Island Electrical Supplies on Mall Drive valued at approximately $2,000. He later illegally resold the pipes for approximately $200.
Durham allegedly stole more galvanized steel pipes from the Commack store on Dec. 3 worth approximately $1,600. He resold the stolen pipes for less than $200, according to police reports.
