Cops: Man Stole Bag From Car, Used Credit Cards

Bag was taken from a car parked in front of Lucille Roberts on Oct. 18, police said.

A man smashed a car window and stole a tote bag containing credit cards in Commack, police said.

On the evening of Tuesday, Oct. 18, a woman returning to her car from in the Commack Corners Shopping Center discovered that her car window had been smashed and that her tote bag containing her wallet and three credit cards had been stolen, according to Suffolk County police.

The suspect, described by police as 5 feet 10 inches tall and about 180 lbs., used the stolen cards to make purchases at two Brentwood gas stations.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. Police say all calls will be kept confidential.
