Crime Log: Woman Steals Candy, Throws Punch in 7-Eleven

A look at recent criminal activity reported in Commack.

The following information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

  • A 22-year-old Medford woman was arrested Oct. 23 after she allegedly stole candy from 7-Eleven on Jericho Turnpike in Commack, and then punched another person within the store. Police did not indicate if the victim was a patron or employee. The woman was charged with harassment in the second degree and petty larceny.
  • Evan Rosen, 20, of Smithtown, was arrested Oct. 22 after he was caught allegedly taking more than $1,000 worth of cash and gift cards from Sports Authority in Commack, where he worked.
  • A women told police that her pocketbook was taken out her shopping cart and stolen while she was buying groceries in Trader Joe’s in Commack Oct. 24. 
  • Police said an attempt at burglary was made Oct. 21 at Sheldon Place in Commack. Authorities said that an unknown person attempted to enter the home by cutting a window screen, but was not successful in gaining access into the house.
