Crime Report: Man Charged with Commack Home Burglaries

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

The Suffolk County Police Department reported these arrests and incidents in Commack during Feb. 21 - 28.

Kyle Rieff, 20, of Kings Park, was arrested on Feb. 21 in Smithtown at 8:19 p.m. on two charges of second-degree burglary. Reports state Rieff was arrested for the Jan. 21, 2011 burglary of a home on Astor Court in Commack. The report states Rieff entered a basement window and left the home with jewelry and a Nintendo Wii system. Reports also state that Rieff broke the rear glass door of a home on Verbena Court in Commack on May 18, 2011 and left with a watch.

On Wednesday, Jan. 11 at approximately 6:10 p.m., a black male, who police decribed as 30 to 40 years old and wearing a gray and black coat, entered the at 3124 Jericho Turnpike and allegedly took a laptop from the floor display.

According to police, the suspect then left the store without paying for the computer, and drove away in a vehicle similar to a Ford Explorer.
