Crime Report: Cops Say Man Ignored Trooper, Drove Drunk

A blotter of the latest arrests in Commack.

The following information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

Umberto Correia, 38, East Northport, was arrested Sunday in Commack and charged with driving while intoxicated, depite a state trooper advising him not to drive, police said. Correia was observed driving a Jeep northbound on Crooked Hill Road, police said. He was pulled over for drifting out of his lane and exhibited poor coordination and slurred speeach, police said.

Bryan Doyle, 27, of Stony Brook, was arrested Feb. 4 in Commack and charged with third-degree criminial possession of a weapon with previous conviction and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. According to police, Doyle was arrested at approximately 1:10 p.m. at the Mayfair Shopping Center on Route 25. Doyle was allegedly arrested on a bench warrant and allegedly had a switchblade on him at the time of the arrest. When he was brought to the precinct, police said they also found the alleged controlled substance in his possession.

On Friday, Jan. 20, at approximately 6:30 p.m. an unknown white male and an unknown white female entered the 7-Eleven at 6230 Jericho Turnpike in Commack. The pair took an unknown amount of sandwiches, snacks and beverages, and then left the store without paying for the food. The suspects fled the scene in a blue vehicle.
