Crime Report: DWI And A Chokehold

A blotter of the latest arrests in Commack.

The Suffolk County Police Department's Fourth precinct reported these arrests in Commack between Jan. 20–Jan. 26:

Barbara Tilton, 46, of Northport, was arrested Jan. 22 and charged with criminal contempt and criminal obstruction. Tilton beat an unidentified female and put her in a chokehold.

Nicole Pellegrino, 18, of Kings Park, was arrested Jan. 23 and charged with DWI. Pellegrino failed to maintain her lane of travel and, when pulled over, was found to have a BAC of .08.

Edison Velandia, 19, of East Elmhurst, was arrested Jan. 23 and charged with operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs. Velandia was driving a 2002 Dodge at 1:06 a.m. eastbound on Jericho Turnpike.

None of the defendants have been convicted of a crime, but were arrested for the charges listed above. They are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.  If any of the above charges have been acquitted, in order for removal from publication, one must contact the Editor and provide proof of dismissal.
