Crime Report: DWI, Petit Larceny and a Murder Arrest

A blotter of the latest arrests in Commack.

The Suffolk County Police Department's Second and Fourth precincts reported these arrests in Commack between Feb. 18-Feb. 24:

John McCormack, 23, of East Northport, was arrested Feb. 18 and charged with DWI. McCormack was driving 2002 Volkswagen west on Jericho Turnpike at 2:30 a.m. when police observed him driving over the speed limit.

Carlos J. Rodriguez, 20, of Brentwood, was and charged with second degree murder and second degree assault. Police say Rodriquez , killing one and injuring another, during a fight at the motel in November 2010.

Daniel Bonilla, 41, of New Bedford, MA was arrested Feb. 19 and charged with petit larceny. Bonilla removed CDs from the located at 85 Crooked Hill Rd. and placed them in his jacket. He was arrested at 6:45 p.m.

Robert Geyer, 57, of Commack, was arrested Feb. 20 and charged with petit larceny. Geyer stole a drillbit at 11:35 a.m. from the located at 5025 Route 25.

None of the defendants have been convicted of a crime, but were arrested for the charges listed above. They are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. If any of the above charges have been acquitted, in order for removal from publication, one must contact the Editor and provide proof of dismissal.
