Not surprised about all the Walmart thefts. I once saw a man leave with the alarms sounding and the "security" guard yelling stop without moving. I then sat in the parking lot and watched that same man go in and out of the store 3 times and putting the stolen merchandise in his SUV. Oh, and I also called the police and waited a 1/2 hour and they never showed. Finally gave the crooks license plate to the store manager and went home.

The headline says there were 2 attempted robberies, yet the story says nothing of them.

The patch loves exaggerating I have have noticed. Shoplifting and petit larceny is a far cry from a robbery or an attempted robbery which requires force or a threat thereof. If your going to report petty offenses like they are crimes of the century try to at least get the crime classification correct.

You noted the problem; the Commack Walmart store mis-manager. He spends all day every day in meetings, is NEVER around at night, has been there a long time and never noticed departments with no staff around, completely empty shelves in some sections, price signs that don't match anything and far more. I like Walmart but hate this place; I only go because its the closest.
