Crimes Nearby: Armed Robberies, Doctor Indicted on Child Abuse Charges

Recent police activity in the Town of Huntington.

East Northport

An armed robber held up People’s United Bank in East Northport Thursday. Police said the man pulled an automatic handgun and demanded cash from a teller, then fled on foot with the cash.

Elwood

Several instances of vandalism of cars and mailboxes were reported in Elwood between June 22 and June 27.

Huntington

Brian Nelson from Huntington Station was arrested in Huntington Station for 2nd degree criminal contempt – disobeying court.

Eric Fauser Jr. from East Northport was arrested in Huntington for 1st degree robbery with the use of a dangerous instrument. 

Bethpage

A Bethpage pediatrician was indicted on charges that he sexually abused and assaulted girls as young as 11 years old under the guise of medical examinations, and then secretly videotaped and photographed them. The 60-count indictment against Dr. Rakesh Punn, 53, was filed with the Nassau County Court last week.

Dix Hills

A case of harassment was reported in Dix Hills on June 26 when a woman said she was allegedly assaulted by her ex-husband's girlfriend.

Lindenhurst

Two people were arrested June 23 on trademark counterfeiting and other charges. Guo Guan Chen of Brooklyn, and Jian Feng Chen, of Queens were charged with failure to disclose origin of recording, second degree, and trademark counterfeiting, third degree.
