Crimes Nearby: DWI, Engagement Ring Theft and Harassment

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Suffolk County police reported the following arrests between July 30 and August 6:

Northport

A woman reported Aug.1 that her engagement ring, worth approximately $10,000, was stolen from atop her dresser sometime between July 26 and 28.

On Aug. 2, a woman was waiting for a parking spot in Municipal Lot 2 on Woodbine Ave. when another woman driving a red BMW struck the rear of her car. The first driver got out of her car and asked the BMW driver for her license, but she refused and said, "the hell I will," before fleeing the scene. The police called the registered BMW owner and left a phone message.

Huntington

Fred Simmons from Brentwood was arrested in Huntington Station for 2nd degree criminal possession of a weapon/loaded firearm.

Nicholas Demaio from Huntington was arrested in Huntington Station for 2nd degree harassment with physical contact.

Ronald B. King Jr. from Dix Hills was arrested in Huntington for 2nd degree criminal contempt disobeying court order.

Smithtown

William Schoepfer, 24, of an unknown town was arrested July 31 in St. James and charged with second degree criminal contempt. Reports indicate Schoepfer was arrested for allegedly violating an order of protection on King Arthur Ct., St. James at approximately 11:45 p.m.

Kings Park

Nicole Leone, 28, of Centereach was arrested Aug. 5 in Kings Park and charged with first offense DWI. Reports state Leone was allegedly operating a 1996 Jeep on Route 25A, Kings Park while intoxicated.

Three Village

Jacob Shurtluff, 19, of South Setauket, was arrested Aug. 1 in South Setauket and charged with second-degree strangulation. Police did not release any other details on his arrest.
