Crimes Nearby: E. Setauket Man Allegedly Stole Utilities, Assault

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County and New York State Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

The Suffolk County and New York State Police Department reported the following arrests:

Hauppauge

Kendal Tinoco, 30, of Deer Park, was arrested in Hauppauge on Sept. 14 and charged with third-degree assault with intent to cause injury. Tinoco was outside of the Fourth Precinct when he punched a person several times in the face, causing them to sustain a lacerated cheek and broken nose.

Johanna Cocco, 25, of Central Islip, was arrested in Hauppauge and charged with acting in a manner that injures a child under age 17. Cocco was sitting in the passenger seat of a Honda Civic that while parked, had the engine running. Police said the vehicle smelled strongly of marijuana, while Cocco had a three-year-old son sitting in the back seat of the car. She allegedly admitted to smoking marijuana outside of the vehicle while her son was locked inside the car, according to police reports.  

Three Village

Suffolk police are investigating the theft of a car from a home in Setauket. According to a police report, a 2007 Toyota 4-Runner was stolen from the driveway of a home on Sage Brush Court sometime between 11 p.m. on Sept. 16 and 8 a.m. on Sept. 17. No arrests have been made in connection with the incident, which is being investigated as a case of fourth-degree grand larceny.

A resident of Indian Valley Road in Poquott has reported the theft of a bicycle valued at more than $1,000, according to a police report. The bike, a blue Trek Madone road bike, was taken from an open garage sometime between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Sept. 13. Suffolk County police are investigating the theft as an incident of fourth-degree grand larceny.

Roy Longworth, 58, of East Setauket, was arrested Sept. 14 in Hauppauge and charged with second-degree grand larceny and intent to illegally use utility services. Police said Longworth allegedly stole utility services via an unauthorized splice between February 2006 and January of 2012.

Port Jefferson

Two men were arrested at the Sunoco gas station on Old Town Road in Port Jefferson Station on Sept. 12 and charged with multiple counts of possession of a controlled substance and narcotics. A third person at the scene was ticketed for loitering.
At about 3:20 p.m., Sean Kennedy, 20, of Port Jefferson Station and Joseph Klein, 20, of Port Jefferson were both sitting in a car in the parking lot of the gas station when they were approached by police because they were engaged in suspicious activity, according to reports.
Kennedy was charged with possession of a controlled substance for allegedly having Oxycodone. Klein was charged with five counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and two counts of criminal possession of a narcotic. He was allegedly in possession of Oxycodone, Cocaine, Hydrocodone and Suboxone.
Kennedy was given a desk appearance ticket and is due in court on Nov. 14. Klein retained an attorney and appeared in Suffolk County First District court in Central Islip on Sept. 13. The judge set bail at $5,000 in cash but it was not posted. He is due back in court on Sept. 18.
