Crimes Nearby: East Setauket Bank Robbed

Suffolk County police reported the following information:

Smithtown

Christopher Bennett, 28, of Lake Grove, was arrested on Feb. 17 in Smithtown on charges of first-degree operating a motor vehicle impaired by drugs. Reports state Bennett was pulled over driving a 2011 Dodge ram eastbound on Route 25 at Terry Road.

Emmanuel Amaral, 42, of Smithtown, was arrested in Smithtown on Feb. 15 on charges of third-degree grand larceny. Amaral was arrested on Brooksite Drive for allegedly taking $4,800 from a person to purchase a 2006 Ford van and never gave the person the van or the money back.

Philip Lobianco, 18, of Nesconset and Bogdan Makartchuk, 18, of St. James, were arrested on Feb. 18 in St. James on third-degree possession of a forged instrument charges. Reports state Lobianco and Makartchuk forged New York State learners permit to purchase tobacco products on Lake Avenue.

Three Village

Police confirmed that Capital One bank on Route 25A in East Setauket was robbed Tuesday at 3:44 p.m.

According to police, the robber handed the bank teller a note demanding cash and indicating he had a weapon. The teller complied, and the man fled on foot eastbound on Route 25A through rear businesses.

The suspect is described as a white man wearing a turtleneck pulled up over his mouth, a black windbreaker with a hood over his head, dark sunglasses, black gloves, khaki pants, and a white cap with three dark squares on the left side. He is described as in his mid 20s and between 5-foot-9 and 5-foot-10 with a medium build.

Christina Pashinsky, 21, of East Setauket, was arrested Feb. 13 and charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property. According to police, she used a stolen New York State Benefit Card at Stop & Shop on Pond Path in Setauket.
