Crimes Nearby: Lloyd Harbor Robbers Arrested, DWIs

Suffolk County police reported the following information:

Huntington

Four arrests have been made in connection with a string of recent  crimes, according to village police.

At a village board meeting Monday, Lloyd Harbor Police Chief Charles Flynn confirmed three residential burglaries and one attempted break-in occurred since February in the village. Two handguns, a shotgun and approximately $100,000 worth of jewelry was stolen from homes on Sea Crest Drive, Sound Crest Drive and Gerry Lane, according to Flynn.

Police say nearly 80 percent of the jewelry was been recovered — some found in village sewer drains by Lloyd Harbor Highway Department personnel, who discovered several firearms with defaced serial numbers.

Smithtown

Zachary Silver, 22, of Hauppauge, was charged with reckless driving and possession of marijuana. According to police, Silver was driving a 2002 Buick on Ocean Avenue in Ronkonkoma at 2:10 a.m. on March 10. Police said Silver was swerving from lane to lane, almost striking other vehicles.

Frank Lombardi, 43, of Hauppauge, was charged with public lewdness. According to police, Lombardi exposed himself to another person while in his car at the Macy’s parking lot in Lake Grove.

Jose Morales, 20, of Bayshore, was charged with exposing himself at the Traffic Violations Bureau Building in Hauppauge and resisting arrest. New York State Police said they were approached by a woman who said Morales was exposing himself. When police approached Morales they said he became combative towards the officer, yelled, used foul language and resisted arrest.

Hauppauge

Kings Park

Dominick Callegari, 26, of Kings Park, was charged with driving while intoxicated on March 16. Police said Callegari, who was driving a 2000 Ford, was speeding on Meadow Road at 2:15 a.m. Police pulled him over and charged him with DWI.

Three Village

Ryan Smith, 19, of Setauket, was arrested March 11 in Old Field and charged with aggravated DWI. According to police, Smith crashed into a telephone poll while traveling northbound on Old Field Road.
