East Northport

Police are seeking a man who allegedly stole prescription medication from an East Northport medical office.

On May 25, at approximately  p.m., an unknown white male, who claimed to be a drug company representative, removed approximately $300 worth of prescription medication from a shelf while he was in a doctor’s office at .

Huntington

A 26-year-old mother from Old Brookville was arrested for leaving her 1-year-old child unattended in a car at a Huntington shopping center Friday.

Aimee Rachlin of Old Brookville was arrested for endangering the welfare of a child in the parking lot of the Big H Shopping Center, located at 839 New York Ave. 

Suffolk County police found the girl profusely sweating in the unlocked car, according to the report.

No injuries were reported. Rachlin was released on bail and her daughter was released to her custody. Child protective services were notified and the investigation is continuing, according to police.

A Greenlawn man was arrested and accused of shooting another man on two separate occasions. 

Suffolk County police, with assistance from U.S. marshals, charged Arthur Ellis, 28, with first degree and second degree assault.

Cory Culberth, 21, was standing in front of 6 Wall St. at about 2:50 a.m. July 17 when he was shot in his abdomen and left arm. Another bullet grazed his head, according to police. 

Culberth remains at Huntington Hospital where he is expected to make a full recovery.

Fort Salonga

A Fort Salonga resident reported that a bouncey house and blower were stolen from the property on July 18.

East Northport

Smithtown

James Taylor, 48, of Hauppauge was arrested July 17 in Smithtown and charged with first degree reckless endangerment. Reports indicate Taylor allegedly fired a rifle into the air in a backyard on July 4.   

Plainview

A Plainview mother will be in court Wednesday to answer charges in the death of her disabled 8-year-old daughter.

Veronica Cirella, 31, was charged with manslaughter Sunday after her daughter, Julie, was found dead Saturday in their Shelly Court home. Cirella was found nearby with a cord wrapped around her neck.

At Cirella's arraignment at Nassau University Medical Center Sunday, the Nassau County prosecutor said Cirella gave her daughter food that she was allergic to, and wrote a note saying that "her daughter should die," prosecutor Zeena J. Abdi said.

Cirella is being held without bail.
