Crimes Nearby: Teen Allegedly Burglarizes Somerset Drive Home

Hauppauge

Kyle Eric Norton, 36, of Islandia, was arrested for assault with the intention to cause injury on July 8. Norton allegedly grabbed a female by the throat causing scratches to her face and neck, and also injuries to her jaw, police said. He was arrested on Nichols Road and Midwood in Nesconset.

Brandon Bustamante, 38, of Hauppauge, was arrested and charged with criminal possession of stolen property. According to police, Bustamante had stole jewelry from a female victim and was arrested at the Central Islip court.

Northport

 Richard Tetens, 32, from East Northport was arrested on Middleville Road in Northport on July 7 after he allegedly intentionally exposed himself in a lewd manor in a public place.

William Martin, 41, undomeciled, was arrested on Larkfield Road in East Northport on July 5 and charged with second degree criminal mischief and three counts of third degree criminal mischief after he allegedly smashed windows and scratched paint on five cars at the Commack Car Wash. 

Smithtown

Eric Moore, 26, of Smithtown, was arrested with first offense DWI charges on July 13. According to police, Moore was driving towards the intersection of River Avenue and West Main Street in Patchogue in his 2007 Ducati and drove through the red light.

Andre Machate, 41, of Smithtown, was arrested and charged with carrying a criminal weapon on them on July 12. Machate was on Lake Avenue in St. James when he was arrested for possessing a weapon, police said. He was charged because of his previous conviction against him, which doesn’t allow him to carry weapons, police said.

A 17-year-old Smithtown boy was arrested on burglary charges on July 9. Police said he was accused of breaking into a residency on February 26 and arrested at the precinct in Smithtown, said police. According to police, the 17-year-old stole a safe that contained jewelry and cash from a home on Summerset Drive in Smithtown.

Three Village

Michael McLoughlin, 21, was arrested July 10 at 10 p.m. at a residence on Stalker Lane in East Setauket on a New York State parole warrant. No further information was available.

Daniel Bender, 39, was arrested July 11 at 2:30 p.m. and charged with petty larceny. Bender allegedly took 20 cases of Enfamil baby formula from Stop & Shop in South Setauket on July 4.

On July 13, an individual at a business located on Gnarled Hollow Road in Setauket called to report a stolen laptop. The incident is being investigated as grand larceny. According to police reports, the theft happened sometime between 4 p.m. on July 10 and 8 a.m. on July 11.
