William McClurkin, 30, of Medford, was arrested in Hauppauge on a charge of third-degree grand larceny, a felony. McClurkin allegedly robbed several Bank of America locations between July 12 and July 18 of last year.

A North Babylon man is facing a harassment charge after he allegedly punched two people in face while in a limousine outside of Vineyard 48. Christopher Schaeffner, 23, was with several other people Saturday afternoon when, according to Southold Town police, Schaeffner stepped on a woman's foot and then became angry when the woman asked him to apologize.

Schaeffner, charged with second-degree harassment, is alleged to have then hit the woman in the jaw with a hard cast on his arm and pushed her onto the floor. When another man in the limo tried to intervene in the fight, Schaeffner punched him in the face, as well.

DA: Woodmere Man Admits to Stealing From Temple

A Woodmere man who was the treasurer at Congregation Aish Kodesh has pleaded guilty to stealing more than $634,000 from the temple, Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice announced on Friday. Isaac Zucker, 49, pleaded guilty Friday morning to second-degree grand larceny. He faces up to seven years in prison at his April 9 sentencing.

Serial Shrimp Thieves in Hot Water

Sticky-fingered shrimp lovers were netted by Suffolk County law enforcement officers last week, according to police. According to Suffolk County police, four Calverton residents were arrested and charged with stealing frozen shrimp from supermarkets since December. Police said during a petit larceny investigation, seventh precinct crime section officers discovered a pattern involving the theft of frozen shrimp valued at more than $2400, which occurred at supermarkets located in the fifth and seventh Precincts.


Officers identified and pulled over the suspect’s vehicle with proceeds inside and arrested four people in the car on Jan. 30, police said.
Seventh precinct crime section officers, with the assistance of fifth precinct crime section officers, charged Joseph Elardo, 34, Sharmane Cromer, 34, James Donnellan, 33, and Nicole Johnson, 22, all of the same address on Southfield Road in Calverton, with 22 counts of petit larceny, two counts of attempted larceny, two counts of possession of a hypodermic needle and one count of criminal possession of a controlled substance.
