Crime Report: Christmas Decorations Damaged, Burglary

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

 

The Suffolk County Police Department reported these arrests and incidents:

Amilcar Martinez, 32, of Brentwood, was arrested Dec. 1 in Commack and charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated - no prior. Police said Martinez was driving a 2008 Pontiac G6 when he pulled over in a parking lot off the Commack Road and Expressway Drive North intersection. Martinez had slurred speech, alcohol on his breath and was unable to complete a field sobriety test, according to police reports.

Paul Zigon, 57, of Commack, was arrested Nov. 28 in Blue Point and charged with first-degree robbery. Police said Zigon entered a BP gas station on Montauk Highway, displayed what appeared to be a handgun and demanded cash. Read more on Zigon's arrest here.

A Crocus Lane homeowner called Suffolk County police on Nov. 29 to report that someone had damaged his Christmas decorations by intentionally cutting their electrical wiring.

Police were called to a Rensselaer Drive home at approximately 6 p.m. on Nov. 28. The homeowner said a locked basement door was pried open, with two of the bedrooms and a bathroom were ransacked. A silver dollar collection and assorted jewelry was missing from the resident, according to police reports. A police investigation is ongoing, but no arrests have been made.
