Details Emerge on 7-Eleven Robbery Suspect

Suffolk police searching for white man in his 20's responsible for robbing convenience store at gunpoint Aug. 8.

New details have emerged regarding the suspect who police say is responsible for robbing a Commack 7-Eleven at gunpoint on August 8.

Suffolk County police describe the thief as a white man who is 20 to 30 years old with a thin build and curly brown hair. Standing approximately 5 feet 10 inches, he was wearing a green T-shirt and baggy, gray sweatpants at the time of the robbery.

The ski-mask clad suspect entered the convenience store, located at 6230 Jericho Tpke., at approximately 4:51 a.m. and showed a gun to the cashier, then demanded the drawer from the cash register, police said.

The cashier complied and handed over the drawer to the suspect, who then emptied the cash into a plastic bag and left the store, police said. The suspect fled on foot southbound on Valmont Avenue.
